Joyfully Catholic
Nazareth Catholic Academy is a community of families who are joyfully and unreservedly Catholic.
Inspired by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and faithful to the teachings of His Holy Catholic Church, we seek to create a culture in which faith is not simply one subject among many, but the foundation of our common life and the lens through which we understand the world.
Our desire is that through prayer, study, friendship, the Sacraments, and the witness of faithful Catholic adults, our children will come to know and love Jesus Christ and learn to live as His disciples.
The School of Nazareth
βAnd Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor before God and man.β Luke 2:52
Our name points us to the Holy Family and the hidden life of Jesus at Nazareth.
Before His public ministry, Jesus spent most of His earthly life in the home of Mary and Joseph. Nazareth was a place of family life, prayer, work, obedience, learning, love, and growth.
It is this image that helps shape our vision for education.
Like the Holy Family, we understand that the formation of a child begins in the home. Parents have the first and primary responsibility for the education of their children (Deuteronomy 6: 6-7), and the school exists to assist them in that sacred vocation.
Luke tells us that Jesus grew in wisdom, age, and favor before God and man. In the same way, authentic Catholic education attends to the whole person: intellect, body, character, relationships, and soul.
We seek not merely to educate students academically, but to help form young men and women who grow in wisdom and virtue, know their dignity as children of God, and learn to order their lives toward Jesus Christ.
Christ at the Center
At Nazareth, Jesus Christ is not added onto an otherwise secular education. He is at the center of it.
Because all creation comes from God and all truth finds its ultimate unity in Him, the Catholic faith should illuminate everything we teach: theology and literature, history and science, mathematics and art, friendship and virtue.
Prayer, Sacred Scripture, the liturgical life of the Church, the lives of the saints, and the Sacraments form the rhythm and culture of our community.
Our Catholic identity is not simply something we teach. It is something we seek to live.
Fidelity to the Church
Nazareth Catholic Academy embraces the fullness of the Catholic faith and seeks joyful fidelity to the teaching authority of the Church.
We believe that children flourish when they are given a clear and coherent understanding of who they are, who God is, and what they were created for. Every child is created intentionally and lovingly by God, made in His image and likeness, and called into relationship with Him.
This truth about the human person shapes our curriculum, our culture, our understanding of freedom and virtue, and the way teachers and students relate to one another.
Our Mission
With faith in Jesus Christ and obedience to His Holy Catholic Church, we seek to share the Good News of salvation with our children through the witness of faith-filled teachers and a robust and integrated curriculum, inspiring them to become faithful, confident, and articulate disciples of Jesus Christ.
Following the example of the Holy Family at Nazareth, we seek to partner with parents in forming the whole child: growing in wisdom, virtue, faith, and love of God and neighbor.
